Proctor-Vandenberge House
Landmark of famous 1840 Indian raid, when Hamilton Ledbetter, builder of first part of house, fought Comanches, and his family escaped death by flight. Dabney (1888-91); Confederate Major Felix McReynolds (1889-93); attorney Fred Proctor (1893-1907). Owned since 1907 successively by Preston R. Austin, W.D. Welder, Patrick H.
